June 6, 2005 RICHMOND—House of Delegates candidate Jennifer McClellan today received the endorsement of key leaders and 11 members of the Legislative Black Caucus and 21 members of the Virginia General Assembly. Additionally, she announced the support of two members of Richmond’s City Council and other prominent city and state leaders. Among those endorsing McClellan were Del. Dwight Jones (D-Richmond), Legislative Black Caucus Chair; Sen. Henry Marsh (D-Richmond), Sen. Benny Lambert (D-Richmond), Del. Viola Baskerville (D-Richmond), Del. Floyd Miles (D-Charles City), City Council members Ellen Robertson and Jackie Jackson, Richmond Commonwealth’s Attorney David Hicks, and Reverend A. Lincoln James, President of the Baptist Ministers Conference. “I am honored to have endorsements from so many of our area’s key leaders and elected officials,” said McClellan. “Our campaign is continuing to generate additional support and momentum every day, and we are looking forward to a great victory on June 14th,” she continued. McClellan is one of two candidates seeking the Democratic Party nomination for the 71st District House of Delegates seat being vacated by Del. Viola Baskerville.
